Currently, Instagram has 800 million plus active users, and the numbers are just multiplying day by day. In earlier days Instagram was limited to sharing photos and videos only, but in today’s time, it is much more than just a social networking site.

In earlier years the algorithm of Instagram was simple and chronological that is the latest post could be seen first in the Instagram feed. But in the past few years, Instagram changed its algorithms it is no more chronological. The Instagram users were however not happy with the change due to which the “keep Instagram chronological” request had gained seventy thousand signatures in just one hour. Even though a large number of users had requested to discard the algorithm changes however Instagram did not do so. Today Instagram algorithms depend on three main factors such as the interest level of the users, recency, and relationship of users among themselves.

In simple words today, Instagram does not show the most recent post of people first in the news feed, but it will show the post of people whose post to like the most or the person you follow the most or the one who is photos you like the most. Instagram tracks this through certain tools and makes sure that you miss no posts from your loved one. Initially even though this algorithm it was not liked by users but as per Instagram after the changes in the algorithm people are not able to see 90% of posts of their near and dear ones which early was approximately 50 percent or less.

Instagram provides the best tools to promote a post, but there are certain tactics in which the reach can be expanded. One of the most important tools is using hashtags! Instagram users use a hashtag before a word to search for anything on Instagram if you want your users to reach your product more and more you can do this by adding popular hashtags to your post. Apart from that, you can also tag people in your post due to which the followers for people you tagged can also see your post thus increasing the reach of users. Several other options such as going live, adding stories,posting on multiple peak time are some of the things that can be done in order to reach out to more and more people.

Thus, Instagram can be used for multiple purposes, and the outcome is really commendable.
